10.22.06 Portrait of a Sweet Deal
Yesterday I went shopping.
This isn't really a huge monumental event or anything. But I haven't gone shopping, (really shopping, fun shopping) in quite a while.
One of the hardest things for me in deciding to quit my full-time job and only work my other part-time job, was knowing I would have to give up shopping.
I'm an excellent shopper. Not only do I enjoy it immensely, but I am also proficient at finding bargains.
Yesterday I went hunting.
Armed with several gift cards, free item coupons, and a few percentage discount coupons I went in. With all of these discounts, I still head directly back to the clearance section, browsing past the sale racks on my way.
Altogether, I got free lipstick, free knee socks & workout capris for $1.97! You can't beat that kind of shopping!
The very cute shoes you see pictured above aren't very practical. Nor are they appropriate for our current weather conditions. And I won't likely be able to wear them for at least 7 or 8 months. But I couldn't pass them up. They are so very adorable. Even better, they were only $8.53.
I've had my shopping fix. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it for a few more months.

CUTE shoes!!!! :) I'm glad you had a fun shopping day! You made it this long with out shopping, you can make it a couple more months (plus...christmas is in there too...)
Major props on your shopping skills! And lovely shoes!
Those are cute shoes. Good job...and you got a few free things. I should try shopping with you next time.
That rocks. I love it when I get a good deal, which isn't often .. but it makes those victories so much sweeter!
Psh! Who needs practical or appropriate when the shoes are that cute! Hee hee!
Thanks guys. They do totally rock. I cannot wait to wear them next year. Maybe I should go on vacation somewhere hot this winter...
Whoa. Those look like the kind of shoes I could break my ankle in.
Oh, you totally could. Would. :) Especially whilst walking Margaret. I wouldn't recommend them for dog-walking shoes, Heather Anne. Unless you had a little fancy dog or something. But I don't believe you're quite that kind of girl...
those shoes are crazy tall..but you need them standing next to hubby. Is your second toe really like that all the time or is the shoe forcing it to bend like that?
I think those would be the type of shoes if you're walking your dog in, the dog would be in a cute pink bag with it's head sticking out.
Exactly, Jean! Course then you wouldn't be walking your dog, you'd just be walking...
Uh, thanks for pointing out the weirdness of my toes, James...Sheesh. Yeah, just the shoes. Plus, I was standing weird while taking the picture.
Sorry Anne, but it just looks like you have four toes and the middle two are giving me the peace sign.
Maybe it was giving you the peace sign...and sandals do tend to make it look as though one only has four toes. Acute observation there, sir.
very cute!
Sorry to chime in late here but WOW! Those are phenomenal deals.
You are one serious deal hunter! Nice shoes too.
I know Carbon! (can't get used to calling you that...) I love days like that!
I know anne, I can't get used to it either :)
Cute! I was a shoe store manager in a previous life (insert your own "Al Bundy" joke here - many have...I especially like the stupid people who used to call me "Ted Bundy!") and I have such a hard time paying retail prices now! If I saw those shoes at that price, they would be in my hands, whether they fit me or not! LOL
