In Which I Am Grumpy and Sad and Just Want to Feel Sorry for Myself

I can't find my wedding ring.

I have looked high and low. In every cushion, under every piece of furniture. In all the vents, through all my pants pockets and coat pockets and purses and bags.

I have looked under carpets and on all the shelves and ledges. I have looked in every little dish or bowl or vase.

It's too big to have gone down any drains. It's too heavy to have been swept up and not heard. The cats wouldn't have eaten it. And I've looked anywhere they could have knocked it.

But then where is it? It has been almost five weeks now. I haven't really been despondent until today. I even rented a metal detector. But of course, there is metal in everything. Nails in the floor, springs in the couches, blah, blah, blah. So that didn't work at all.

It's just gone. And I just want to cry. And I just might.

Ooooh, I'm so sorry. I wish I could find it for you. Maybe, just maybe when you finally stop looking for it, it will reappear? I hope so.

I am sorry babe. I would be upset, too.

My grandma (and my mom, too) always yell "Pray to St. Anthony!" whenever I admit to losing anything of value. I'll pray to St. A for you, and hopefully it will not be lost much longer.

Thanks for the sympathy guys.

Jean, if you want to do a P&P search, I'll buy. Then I'll watch it while you search. I seriously can't stand to look any more. I keep doing it though. Pick up a rug walking by the front door. Pull open a drawer I haven't opened in a while. It's driving me insane.

Hey Lizzie! :) Good to hear from you!

I had it on in the house. I took it off in the house. In the kitchen? In the living room? In the library? Who knows...

But thanks for the encouragement anyway!

I doubt Gary the Gnome has it.

My guess is that it is in your new shed. You have practically lived there the past 5 weeks.

I wish...I actually lost it before we even started the shed...thanks though, Ed. :)
