Working Weekends

Mowing the lawn, doing the laundry and the dishes. Dusting, polishing. Cleaning out and rearranging the utility room. Putting away tools. Moving furniture. Painting the trim for the shed. Painting the shed. Gardening. Ripping holes in the ceiling, sanding the spackle. Bleaching the mold, painting the kilz. Changing the litter boxes, putting away books. Having a picnic.

I hear you lady! That's what weekends are for. My life is a little hectic right now with house projects too! I feel your pain!!

Wow! Busy weekend! I am too bogged down in house projects. The only problem is that I need a pair of hands bigger than a two year old's to help me with some of them! :) She is trying though! I've also realized that I need my hubby's input on design more than I thought. I've come to find that I use him for a sounding board to make my ideas work. And usually I am the brains behind a project and him the brawn. Not that I can't do most things like swing a hammer and wield an electric screwdriver, but try to balance a level, wire shelf, and electric drill all at the same time and things can get a little hairy! I guess I'm just used to coming up with the ideas and then turning it over to my engineer husband who makes my dreams come true! :) Glad your weekend is proving profitable. Mine has been spent mostly comforting a two year old who is running a fever and missing her Daddy more than she can put into words and who just can't seem to understand why when she talks to the sky (which is where Daddy's flying), he doesn't seem to answer her back! :) Oh the thought processes of one so young!

Wow! Care to come over to my house? I could use someone with your skills!

Seriously, glad to hear that you're having a good summer. It was nice hearing from you!

saw a play, napping with youngest child Saturday while he watched Wizard of Oz, took Diva to a ballet, got McD's hot fudge sundae with caramel on the bottom, slept till 10 on Sunday, napped again with youngest during another viewing of Wizard, made hubby take us out for pizza and cookie dough, tried out the new washer and dryer long enough to know it works, blogged, edited, ate... very self-indulgent lazy weekend. Have to gear up for Monday ya know!

Becky, you are so brave and strong. I could never do what you do and I am impressed! I'm sure it's so hard on your sweetie to miss her daddy so much too. It's so nice to be able to depend on a guy to get the labor of work done!

Andria, if only you didn't live so far away... ;)

Manic, welcome! And your weekend sounds fabulous! Those are excellent things to be busy with!

I'm also surprised no one responded to Luke. I just giggled when I read it. Especially since most of the work Andy did. Hmm...let's see, I think I did the laundry and I polished and the painting. He did all the ripping and the sanding and the litter boxes and the tool putting away and the utility room cleaning out. Yeah, so I really got the easy way out. Besides, I worked way harder last week than he did.

All that to say, I was ok to let his comment go by the wayside. ;)

And Zelda, I know. The GC is very angry with us at the moment. I'll be surprised if it works at all by the time we turn it back on.

However, we have been highly obsessed with the Alias of late. There has been no time for the GC. Vaughn is such a good replacement...

A picnic! Picnics! I can't remember the last time I had a picnic. But I'm pretty sure it invovled my babycarrot sister, and Cheerios. : )

Happy! (almost) weekend to you babe.w
