A Perfect Rainy Day

I have been waiting for rain for days. It's been so humid and hot and yet dry at the same time. It's cloudy today, and rainy.

I would be painting and finishing up those projects requiring paint, but caulking was done and that isn't dry yet. So it's time for a perfect rainy day project.

Sewing. I just got some fabulous fabric for my recently stained porch chair cushions. A glass of wine and a bowl of grapes are all that is needed for me to get started!

**Updated: what I meant to say is that I would spend most of my time organizing all of my notions. It's amazing what kind of mess can accrue in a couple of sewing drawers and baskets and boxes.

So jealous, I have lots of projects I am itching to try out. BTW, have you asked Nik about dibs on the brown suede material? Will you host a sewing night soon?

Nope, I totally forgot...thanks for the reminder.

And yes. Yes I will. Coming to you, another rainy day soon!

your cushions turned out amazing. Again...I'm so impressed.... :)

maybe on sewing day i'll just come and cut people's fabric since I'm too much of a perfectionist I wouldn't get anything done. :)

Luke, you can totally come. Maybe you could sew a tool belt or something.

Thanks, Jean. I do love the new cushions. I'll have to put up pics when the whole project is done! And I'm sure you could do something on sewing day. We'll find just the right porject for you!

What is your suggestion for the best type of bedroom curtain/drapes? I currently have a sort of woven shade on our bedroom windows, but want to buy or make some curtains to go with them. I'll need to be able to add blackout liners to them (or just get a second rod to hang them on) so that my dear hubby can sleep when he needs to sleep during the day. But I need to know...now we're talking coffee-house theme...do we go tab top or formal or simple ones that pile on the floor...how do we decide?!?! I don't have any crafty friends here in SC that might be able to toss around ideas with me and I'm eager to do some projects with my own hands rather than just buying everything! Now that I have the list of things needed dwindled down to a manageable size. I'd love your input. I'll take some pics of my room and windows and send them to you so you have a better idea of what I'm talking about.
Love you! And thank you for being crafty!!

I am totally on it, Beck! Send me the pics and I'll help you out! Plus, I have the most fantastic designer Nikki ever. I'd be happy to share her expertise. ;)

Curious...do you eat grapes while sewing too? I eat frozen grapes while sewing. & if it weren't for the whole pregnant thing (still) I would also have wine...soon.

I think it should be time for another sewing party...
