Presents

So hubbers asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I had originally told him (in a loud, demanding voice) that all I wanted was an ice-cream cake from Dairy Queen. And that I should be allowed to eat the whole thing by myself.

But he wants to get me a present. Now, I really like presents. I do. What girl doesn't? But he is the most creative gift-giver I know. Two years ago I got a hammock. I LOVE the hammock. I don't remember what I got last year. Errr...But I'll bet it was creative. Or wait...did we not do presents last year? Yeah, I think that was it. All that to say, it's just odd that he asks as he's so good at picking things out himself.

Anyway...I'm trying to come up with a list of suggetions.

Shoes: I think he could pick some out that would be stellar. Otherwise, I will accept a gift card. (Hint: DSW)
Books: Here also he is a good judge of what authors I already like and have read before. This is always a good option.
Movies: Chick flicks make me happy. As do action movies.
Diamonds: A girls' best friend. But I don't know that they are in the budget. I won't tell if you don't. (Hint: those stud earrings I want)
Plants or planting Stuff: I am obsessive about loving plants. I would live in a jungle if I could.

New alarm clocks for our bedroom: What? We need them! Cute, small silver ones. And I am trying to be crazy frugal right now so I'm not buying them normally! (Which is very hard because I'm so good at shopping)

Cute Tops: This is risky because he doesn't usually go shopping on his own, but I think he could do it. And there are so many cute tops out right now. (Hint: The Limited)
Flowers: Always a good choice. Especially if they are potted ones I can put in the garden. AN

Boy Anne, I think you covered all your wishes. hot pink guitar? just a suggestion...to go with your new strap ;)

I have been promised the hot pink guitar when I succeed at my working out/getting fit goal. Which will not be for some time. :)

I sure hope I get my sweet strap soon. I do need new guitar strings too. Hey Andy, add Guitar Strings to my list, ok?

I think you have assembled quite a list for the Mr. Andy. He should be able to find something. I am obsessed with plants too. I got Paul a bonsai tree for Valentine's day and he let it die. I could have killed him. I have been nursing it back to life. So sad.

Ah...very tricky. I also have let a bonzai die. Would that I could have taken back the pain. But what was done, was done.

have you started working out? :)

BONSAI!!! isn't that from karate kid?

anne said...

Yes. And I assumed that since I have watched each and every Karate Kid movie several times (including the Girl one) that I would therefore be completely capable of taking care of a bonsai plant. I was mistaken.

And no. I have not even thought about thinking about starting to work out. I am a slacker. I sit on my bootie and watch tv. Except that now my DVD player is broken. And now I can't even do my workout video. So I'm completely screwed. Sigh.

I keep reminding myself that once the weather is nice I'll start running again. Ha.

Happy Birthday to you whatever day that happens to be on in the next few days. Hey I would go for the shoes, you could start with a pair of running shoes.

Well J, I really already have a good pair. But that's a lovely suggestion.

how about a new cat? or anything that has to do with a cat. that always seems to light up your life! and you can never have too many cats right?

anne said...

No, actually you can have too many cats. I know, you never thought you'd hear me say that, but it's true. So, no. No more cats.

Kittens on the other hand...

Howdy, neighbor! You can borrow my DVD player for a week or two if you'd like...all in the name of Alias! I understand the importance of watching it. Michael Vartan...yum! My DVD player isn't hooked up to anything yet (namely my very small TV, which Mike had the nerve to call "fisher price") and even better, I know exactly where it is! :) This is an accomplishment!

Well, I have a ginormous TV I could let you borrow... :)

We drove by your place last night to pick you up to watch Desperate Housewives (which wasn't on) and Grey's Anatomy, but didn't see your car...

We are totally going to become your "just dropping by" neighbors! :)

I didn't get home until about 10:15. By then I was pretty focused on sleeping!

Is the ginormous TV connected to your DVD player that doesn't work? :)

anne said...

No, no...I'm not that mean. Or dumb... : )

It's in our bedroom...and Andy doesn't like it because it has a "tv noise" that bothers him.

Though, "Miss Perfect Pitch" might be bothered by it too!

This is why I have a wishlist on my site. My hubby and family just go to it to get some ideas. It's great all around.

I'd probably be open to prevent the TV from just gathering dust! Unless the noise was a horrible screeching or something obnoxiously two-toned or something, it probably wouldn't be too bad. :)

And you're welcome to stop by anytime! Good luck trying to catch me at home, though... :(

You really need to join the Sunday evening TV watching group. It's a good time. There are always too many snacks and a lot of ridiculousness going on.

I'm up for that! I'll see you this Sunday at 9!
