Playing Fair

There are a few games that I really like to play. Card games, Monopoly, Battleship. Games that are good to play with friends, family, sometimes even strangers. And there are a few that I really hate to play. Stratego, Risk, Chess. Strategy really isn't my strong suit. Usually the ones I hate are the ones I'm not very good at. They are the ones that I commonly lose. And in reverse, the games I really love are the ones that I am exceptionally good at.

Speaking of games I am really good at, tonight I played Dutch Blitz with a bunch of friends. And I won. It's the one game that not only am I really good, but I also never cheat at. Yup, you heard that right. Now I'm not saying I cheat at every game, nor that I cheat in mean ways. Nosirree, I only cheat fairly.

Of course, I can't tell you exactly how I cheat so fairly, because then you'd know all my tricks. And that just wouldn't be fair at all.

What are your most and least favorite games?

Oooh.. hehehe! I'm a fair cheater, too! I always hate playing games with people I don't know, because I don't feel like I can introduce them to that devious side of me quite yet!

Ooooo Stratego? I haven't played that in ages! I loved that game!! Right now my favorite game is Sequence.

And yes, I do cheat while playing Go Fish or Memory or Crazy 8's as there are times where I have to lose so the game will last a bit longer, but there are the times where I don't cheat and still lose to Sam!

Sometimes I like stratgey games, but not usually. The one I do enjoy is Settlers of Catan. So fun. But I must agree, that my enjoyment of the game thouroughly depends on how well I feel I'm doing, or at least, if I feel like I have any chance at all to win or at least not get totaly slaughtered.

But OH!!! Dutch Blitz! I MSUT get me some of those. I can't find them here. They're really hard to come by. Durning university we payed giant Dutch Blitz. We dumpter dove behind furniture stores for mass amounts of cardboard and CUT and PAINTED 'cards' that were 2 feet by 3 feet, then played with teams (two to flip the three cards, one to watch the piles, etc...)in a gym. It was full body contact as we ran the cards to the middle, trying to beat out the opponents. We had to sign waivers. Seriously.

Cheating!!! I can't believe it!

I like most games except ones where we are in teams. I always get paired with someone who either isn't as competitive or is just plain stoopid. I've never heard of Dutch Blitz. Interesting.

wow...big dutch blitz sounds awesom. call parker brothers or milton bradley and market that!

as the opposite of my wife i must say that i love strategy games.

chess, stratego, risk, axis and allies, etc.

which is why my wife doesn't like them. you know i will beat you!

and in 5 years i have yet to beat her in dutch blitz. she is fast for sure...

though i must say i understand likeing a game only when you are doing well. i've lost my appitite for chess ever since i got my mac and started playing against the computer. or rather started getting stomped by an inanimate object

sequence is fun too. took me a while to realize it was a published game. my grandmother made her own (bought some decks of cards and cut them up and glued them to the back of an old gameboard).

hmmm, just realized i haven't played axis and allies in ages!...jean, tell your man to brush up on his conquering skilz. cold weather is coming and we need to sit inside by a fire and take over the world (insert evil laugh here)

i would also have to add that if there were a game involving only posting once that i would be really bad at it.
